The Killjoys
From 1976 to 1978, Gil played bass for the Birmingham based The Killjoys.
The Killjoys were a punk rock/new wave band from Birmingham, England, formed in 1976, with members including Kevin Rowland and Al Archer, who would later form Dexys Midnight Runners, and Ghislaine 'Gil' Weston who would later join Girlschool. Although their releases while still together were limited to one single, subsequent interest has seen an album of their recordings released.
Gil joined Girlschool as bassist to replace Enid Williams after their tour of Japan in 1982. She stayed with Girlschool for five years, recording the Screaming Blue Murder, Play Dirty, Running Wild and Nightmare At Maple Cross albums.
The latest album from Girlschool is "Hit and Run - Revisited" and is available from our
